Central Arkansas Radio Emergency Network

The Central Arkansas Radio Emergency Network (C.A.R.E.N.) is a dedicated nonprofit organization based in Little Rock, Arkansas, serving as the state’s leading provider of emergency communications and public service support for over three decades. As a cornerstone of amateur radio activity in Arkansas, C.A.R.E.N. specializes in SKYWARN, ARES, RACES, and supporting public service events, ensuring vital communication networks are available during emergencies.

With a rich history spanning over 30 years, C.A.R.E.N. leverages the expertise of amateur radio operators to deliver critical communications, including operating the Arkansas SKYWARN Net with seven voice and two digital repeaters, and supporting emergency coordinators across Pulaski County, Little Rock, and North Little Rock. C.A.R.E.N. also actively promotes amateur radio through training programs and long-standing affiliations with organizations like the American Radio Relay League, solidifying its commitment to community resilience and preparedness.
