Disability Rights Florida

Disability Rights Florida is a statewide Protection and Advocacy system based in Tallahassee, Florida, dedicated to safeguarding the civil rights of individuals with disabilities. For over 45 years, we’ve championed the rights and well-being of approximately 150,000 Floridians with disabilities through legal advocacy, education, and systemic change. We provide free and confidential assistance, ensuring equal opportunities and self-determination. Our commitment extends to impacting over 4,000,000 Floridians through litigation and legislative efforts. Disability Rights Florida works to empower individuals with disabilities and promote a more inclusive society.

As the designated P&A system, we offer a comprehensive range of services, including the Client Assistance Program (CAP), legal representation, and advocacy before various federal programs. We actively monitor and challenge discriminatory practices, striving for a future where all individuals with disabilities can fully participate in society.

Our team of 72 professionals, supported by a dedicated Board of Directors and Advisory Council, works tirelessly to advance the rights of people with disabilities across Florida. We operate through multiple branch offices in Tampa, Hollywood, and Gainesville, ensuring accessibility and responsiveness to our clients.
