Duke Mock Trial

Duke Mock Trial is a Durham, North Carolina-based nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering critical thinking and public speaking skills in students through the simulation of courtroom trials. For over 30 years, Duke Mock Trial has been a nationally renowned program, consistently qualifying for the National Championship Tournament and achieving top-five placements. We provide a dynamic and engaging community for students to develop legal knowledge and persuasive communication techniques, preparing them for future success in law and beyond. Our team of 10 dedicated staff members, combined with a strong alumni network of over 150 professionals, ensures a supportive and competitive environment.

Duke Mock Trial’s core mission is to cultivate a vibrant community of competitive individuals passionate about mock trial. We foster strong bonds through team dinners, social events, and a shared commitment to excellence.

Through participation in tournaments across the country – including destinations like Nashville, Atlanta, and New York City – our teams gain invaluable experience and hone their skills under the guidance of experienced law students and attorneys. We are proud to host the Tobacco Road Invitational tournament alongside UNC’s Mock Trial team each fall, solidifying our position as a leading collegiate program.
