LatinoJustice PRLDEF

LatinoJustice PRLDEF is a New York-based nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing civil and human rights for Latinx communities across the United States and Puerto Rico.

For over five decades, we’ve been using litigation, community empowerment, and policy advocacy to transform harmful systems and create a more just and equitable society. We champion issues including immigrants’ rights, economic justice, voting rights, criminal justice reform, and racial justice.

Our work is rooted in a commitment to fostering leadership and providing legal education, empowering the next generation of Latinx leaders. We achieve our mission by challenging discriminatory laws and practices, advocating for systemic change, and supporting individuals and communities facing injustice. Our history began in 1972 with a pioneering group of lawyers determined to use the legal system to protect the rights of the Puerto Rican diaspora.

We are committed to building a future where all Latinx individuals and communities have equal access to opportunity and justice.
