NACSA (CMS specialists)

NACSA are the UK's leading child maintenance specialist. We deal only with the Child Support Act and its management under Child Maintenance Service, formerly known as Child Support Agency. Separation and divorce are challenging times. Family lawyers may be instructed to divide the family assets and agree on the financial provision for spousal and child support. But it is important for parents to understand how easily those orders can be left in shreds as CMS remains the overriding scheme for the calculation of child maintenance awards. High earners often take advantage of the scheme to cause reductions in the calculation of maintenance awards. The Child Maintenance Scheme is a web of complex rules and rigid formulas which can be difficult to understand. It can often cause the flow of maintenance to slow down or even stop as parents continue to make sense of the decisions made. It is vital that the financial support to children is not compromised by a failing system, We take the time to explain how and why the decisions are made, and where the law is not adhered to, we guide you through the process of dispute and appeal. Over the past 3 decades, NACSA has delivered sound advice and guidance to parents, solicitors, advice bureaus, MPs and employers. We have delivered evidence to the Select Committee and offered feedback to CMS consultation papers. We also provide bespoke training to family lawyers and practitioners. If you are a parent experiencing difficulties with CMS or a family lawyer about to finalise your client's consent order and want to understand the implications of CMS, give us a call and see how we can help.
