Newcastle City Guides

Newcastle City Guides is a passionate group of volunteer guides dedicated to sharing the rich history, heritage, and culture of Newcastle upon Tyne and the surrounding North East region. Established in 1963, we offer daily walking tours of Newcastle’s city highlights, including Grey’s Monument and Grainger Market, as well as specialized tours like Heritage Walks exploring diverse local history topics and Grey’s Monument tours. We also host private tours and provide seasonal events such as tours for Under 5s and Easter activities.

As part of North East Museums, we are committed to preserving and presenting the area’s fascinating past. Our tours, lasting approximately 90 minutes, cater to a wide range of interests, from Roman history at Segedunum to the vibrant atmosphere of Grainger Market. We strive to provide engaging and informative experiences for visitors of all ages, fostering a deeper appreciation for Newcastle’s unique character and heritage.
