ResponderStrong

ResponderStrong is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health and wellness resources for emergency responders, including law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and other frontline professionals nationwide. Based in Leawood, Kansas, we address the alarming rates of mental health challenges – such as suicidal thoughts, shortened lifespans, and burnout – experienced by these critical individuals and their families. Our mission is to foster a supportive community and empower responders with accessible tools, educational resources, and clinical support, ultimately strengthening communities by ensuring the wellbeing of those who serve them. We achieve this through a robust online platform, the ResponderStrong Wellness Platform, offering self-assessments, a peer-to-peer anonymous chat app, and a mental health curriculum. Founded in 2016 in collaboration with the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and now operating within NDRI Ventures, ResponderStrong represents a ‘by Responder, for Responder’ approach, continually evolving to meet the diverse needs of the emergency response community. We are committed to providing no or low-cost resources to meet responders where they are, fostering a culture of resilience and wellbeing.
