Water for South Sudan, Inc. is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering sustainable quality-of-life services and transformative water solutions to the people of South Sudan. Based in Rochester, New York, we work in partnership with local communities to provide access to clean, safe water, improve hygiene and sanitation practices, and foster lasting impact. Our approach centers on locally-led, sustainable water well construction and maintenance, alongside comprehensive hygiene and sanitation programs, empowering communities to build healthier and more prosperous futures. Inspired by the journey of Salva Dut, who returned home to find his father succumbing to waterborne illness, we are committed to ‘watering the seeds of change’ – one well, one community, at a time. We currently serve over 5 million people in South Sudan, who often walk an average of 3.7 miles each day to obtain water, and we are dedicated to reducing this burden and improving their overall well-being. Our commitment to sustainability ensures that our projects are long-lasting and provide communities with invaluable and sustainable WASH programs.
